Welcome to the somers lab - wildlife ecology & genetics
I am an applied ecologist with a wide variety of interests. My research generally examines interactions between humans and wildlife, and attempts to understand changes to biological systems at the level of molecules, individuals, and populations. The research I am doing at any given time varies, but there are several major themes to my program: (1) wildlife / fisheries conservation and management; (2) conservation and population genetics; and (3) food web ecology. Students and staff in my group engage in many modes of data collection, including extensive field work, molecular genetics, and stable isotopes chemistry. For the best view of some of our activities, please check out pictures under "Research in Action".
